Sign Up for NYC! The New York Trip is back! This year YIC would like to invite you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Big Apple from February 2nd to the 6th. The details regarding the event can be obtained from any YIC executive or by checking the home page of our website. Sign ups for the trip will end on Sunday, January 23. To sign up, you can either come to the YIC station setup right across from Timothy's in the Schulich building, or you can pay online via a credit card (link is on the home page). Get Certified! Get certified with YIC! The York Investment Club offers 3 levels of certification which members can choose to qualify for based on their proficiency in Finance. Students can advance to the next level of their study by passing a final assessment in each semester. Upon completion of the program, YIC members will have a noticeable advantage in their knowledge of capital markets and finance. To access the certification resources, you must be a registered member of YIC. Please log in, and you will be able to find the documentation under Activities > Certification Program > Certification Resources. 
YIC's Community Blog With the start of the 2010 - 2011 session, the York Investment Club is launching a new initiative called the Community Blog. Here, YIC members are encouraged to share their ideas, and discuss those of others regarding the various issues in finance and investing in an open and learning oriented environment.   All members are encouraged to write such blogs and to comment on the ideas of others. Welcome To YIC!

YICFounded in 2001, the York Investment club is now celebrating its 10th year of educating and equipping both undergraduate and MBA students with the skills needed to build a successful career in finance. Our objective till date has been to educate our members about the various facets of equity investing through an interactive and social environment.

We focus on delivering this knowledge through various workshops, seminars, conferences, competitions and regular investment meetings. Furthermore, one of our unique activities is pooling capital from our members in a portfolio which is followed by monthly selection of equity investment alternatives in order to provide a forum for students to receive hands-on exposure to investment research and the due diligence process. 

Our alumni and current executives have been recruited by prestigious institutions including Merrill Lynch, TD Securities, Scotia Capital, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Monitor Group, KPMG, Deloitte & Touche, JP Morgan Chase, Ernst & Young, BMO Capital Markets, Munich Re and many more.
